Ivanhoe Grammar School
About Project
Ivanhoe Grammar School’s new $60m Sports and Aquatic Centre comprises of four underground basketball courts, two tennis courts, and a 50-metre hydro floor swimming pool.
Our scope began after the retention system and bulk excavation was completed ,with lift overrun pits and the basement slab. Due to the spans that were required for the basketball and tennis courts, a hollowcore plank system supported on structural steels was designed. Our scope included pouring the capping slab on the hollowcore planks as well as numerous other concrete structures withing the complex. This included footings, ground beams, In-situ columns, in-situ fire stairs, feature stairs and steps.
Due to the large site, detailed planning was required to ensure that access to construct all works was maintained. Regular site meetings took place to ensure the smooth running of the works.
The practical completion of this project saw the handover of a world-class facility that will serve the community for many years to come.
During the past 4 years Shane Connaughton has completed numerous packages for us. In the early days Shane undertook minor packages but Shane and his team’s capacity, and professionalism have significantly increased to the extent that they have completed some of our biggest concrete packages.
Shane has a very experienced and helpful crew with excellent on and off-site supervision. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
