Testimonials
We’ve been working with FRP Project Management since last year, and their impact on our project tenders has been huge. Shane and his team provide a level of detail to every tender which has made a real difference for our company. As well as that, their project management advice has been invaluable whenever we’ve needed it. They’re extremely responsive, and we would have no problem recommending their services to other FRP contractors.
Over the last 9 months, Shane, and his team at FRP have greatly improved our tendering process. We have received extremely positive feedback from some of our clients for the tenders that Shane and his team have complied. These tenders have included detailed methodologies, as well as cost saving options for our clients. This has enabled us to compete not solely based on price for these projects
EliteBuild Solutions partnered with FRP Project Management for a comprehensive review and update of our safety documentation and procedures. The initial phase involved a thorough desktop audit to identify areas of our OHS systems requiring updates for compliance with legislative requirements. FRP not only delivered all the necessary documentation promptly but also demonstrated exceptional responsiveness and professionalism throughout the process. Their commitment to ensuring our safety systems are up-to-date and in line with regulations was evident, making the collaboration seamless. We wholeheartedly recommend FRP for their exemplary safety services.
Shane, it is great to know you are again able to help myself and our business at HLC Constructions for ongoing concrete and associated works management solutions. In the past you have assisted us on multiple projects in compiling methodologies to efficiently deliver complex concrete structures.
Standouts for myself are:
- 2 Basements, 7 Levels above ground, GMHBA building in Geelong, advise given on high level pumping, pour sequences, formwork, and concrete placement.
- Topping an 18-storey building on St Kilda Rd, Melbourne, where research was done on methodologies to add 2 new levels to an occupied building in one of the busiest precincts in Melbourne. You were able to give invaluable advice on methods of static line pumping, cantilevered perimeter scaffolding to avoid scaffolds to ground, staging, management of PT, and formwork systems where a huge focus was to allow materials to be transported via small material hoists and crawler cranes to avoiding oversized mobile crane needs in excess of 350 tonne. Therefore, avoiding the need for extensive and regular street closures.
- Pavement sequencing and works to a large scale sized industrial remediation project in Altona.
On all occasions you were quick to assist, creative in your thinking and showed an amazing depth of knowledge which was second to none.
Without hesitation I would recommend your services to HLC and encourage others in need to consider your services also.
Shane Connaughton was awarded the concrete package for our project at Rosebud Primary School, where the scope included the construction of a two-story Learning Hub building as well as a Gymnasium. Having previously worked with Shane and his crew on a previous project, I had no concerns about their quality of work or their professionalism.
I was not disappointed in this regard, and prior to the project commencing they had already issued several RFI’s which were able to be resolved meaning that certain delays onsite were avoided. Throughout the project they were very proactive in their planning of upcoming works offsite which resulted in their crews onsite being very productive.
We were extremely happy with the quality of the work that Shane’s crew produced. This was especially true regarding the construction of the 6m high feature columns at the front of the building, as well as the tiered seating and steps. Their methodology for these works was issued well before works commenced which included all steps that were taken to ensure the safety of all the people onsite.
I look forward to working with Shane in the future and have no hesitation in recommending him for complex concrete packages.
The team lead by Shane Connaughton has recently completed the concrete package for the Icon Cancer Bunker at the Holmesglen Hospital in Moorabbin. The concrete package consisted of bored piers, slab on ground and 1,200mm thick in-situ bunker walls. The structure was to be constructed inside the existing hospital.
The most complicating aspect of the package was the 1,200mm wide bunker walls. This was due to the lack of access at the external face of the wall. The methodology that Shane designed had the external 200mm of the wall being sprayed with shotcrete which allowed the shotcrete wall to be used as the external formwork for the internal 1,000mm wide in-situ wall.
We were absolutely delighted with the extremely high quality of the walls. Overall, we found that Shane ran an excellent team who were easy to deal with and were very flexible when changes were made to the drawings. Excellent work from the crew, and in completing to satisfaction of follow on trades with no call backs for defects. We would have no hesitation in recommending Shane to other builders.
Hutchinson Builders engaged Shane Connaughton to complete the structure package of Symbio Laboratories in Ravenhall. The project consisted of 3 levels including pile caps, footings, slab on ground and two 4000m2 suspended slabs.
From the first meeting I was impressed with Shane’s management regarding knowledge of their trade and safety requirements. The project was completed without delays and defects were attended to diligently.
I look forward to working with Shane and his crew in the future.
APM Group engaged Shane Connaughton to construct shear walls over 6 levels at the Causeway Hotel, 273-278 Little Collins Street, Melbourne. The existing structure was built in 1935 and, as is the case with such buildings, there were many difficulties and unknowns.
We found that Shane ran a great company with all his team being very accommodating to work with. They were quick not just to build, but to respond, and showed a level of professionalism that we have come to expect from subcontractors of a high calibre. They assisted in resolving onsite issues that arose due to the complexities of the project and their opinions and recommendations carried great weight.
We are very satisfied with Shane and his team and look forward to building a stronger relationship in the future.
I am just writing to you to say thank you for the works that you have completed here at Peninsula Grammar Creative Design Centre.
Shane Connaughton and his team were a pleasure to work with. The Concrete and the Formwork was accurate and of good quality. Safety was of a high standard, handrails, barcaps and all procedures were carried out as per the submitted SWMS. The formwork and concrete programme was achieved ahead of our Program and allowed following trades to start earlier.
Again, Thanks for your great work, communication and planning. Hopefully, we will work together on future projects together.
Balmain & Co. engaged Shane Connaughton to undertake the FRP for the Blower Building and Transformer Slab at the Western Treatment Plant. This was a project that had tight tolerances and required a high level of attention to detail.
The project was completed on program and we were extremely happy with the quality of work as well as with the professionalism and conduct of Shane’s crew onsite.
We look forward to working with Shane in the future and would have no hesitation in recommending them to other builders for their FRP packages.
During the past 4 years Shane Connaughton has completed numerous packages for us. In the early days Shane undertook minor packages but Shane and his team’s capacity, and professionalism have significantly increased to the extent that they have completed some of our biggest concrete packages.
Shane has a very experienced and helpful crew with excellent on and off-site supervision. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
It’s has been a pleasure working with Shane Connaughton and his team for the past 6 months. They provide an excellent service where it is obvious that their employees buy into their operational systems. I would have no hesitation is recommending Shane to other builders.
I have worked with Shane Connaughton and his team on my last 3 projects, and I have found them to be extremely professional and easy to deal with. What sets them apart from other contractors is their excellent supervision on, and off, site as well as a high-quality work crew.
After working with Shane and his crew for the past 7 months on our Aged Care in Bayswater, I would highly recommend using them for a full concrete package again. I found their team onsite, as well as supervision offsite, to be very professional and easy to deal with.
We recently engaged Shane to undertake a small technical job for us on short notice and with limited documentation. It was pleasing to have contractor take ownership and provide technical input to produce the best possible outcome. On Shane recommendation it was decided to use Holcim’s Agilia self-levelling concrete which combined with the groups commitment to best practice delivered a very successful result.
